TEPIDARIUM
Tepidarium is a Roman invention, and ancient Romans relaxed and socialized in tepidariums. In contrast to saunas, where temperatures and humidity are high, conditions in the tepidarium are much milder. The temperature is slightly above the human body temperature, ranging between 37 and 39 degrees Celsius. Since conditions in the tepidarium are gentler, the cardiovascular system is not strained to the same extent as in a sauna, making tepidarium suitable for individuals of all ages.
For optimal results, it is recommended to visit the tepidarium 2 or 3 times a week. Heated and anatomically shaped stone beds have a beneficial effect on the entire body, especially the back muscles. The body emits the same temperature it receives from the heated bed, and energy consumption is minimal. For this reason, the body is warmed but not sweaty, which has numerous positive effects on the entire organism. Visiting the tepidarium is also a good preparation for going to the sauna, allowing the body to gradually acclimate to higher temperatures.
